Hwasun Beach near Sanbangsan Area has gained more fame lately thanks to the Yacht school which moved in 2 years ago. Originally placed in the northeast coast,  Gimnyeong Yacht School moved to Hwasun to find more suitable condition for driving a yacht. With picturesque surrounding environment and adequate power of wind, Hwasun Beach couldn’t have been more attractive place to drive a yacht. I volunteered to be a TA in the school and got the chance to participate in the yacht school program. Otherwise, cost for renting a yacht is $100 for 30 minutes and kayak is $20 for an hour. Therefore volunteering for TA was only way to drive a yacht cheaply.

Tourists are usually not allowed to participate in the Yacht School Program, so one has to rent a boat from a lender for a very short time and experience it. To drive the yacht, people had to make reservations in advance. These students came here in dozens with the professor. To work as a TA, I had to ask the coach in person. The Yacht School Program lasted 3 days.

As a whole, experiencing yacht school as a TA was fun and exciting. Piloting a yacht was more fun depending on a gust. It was also same for getaway boat. Water-skiing needed lots experience beforehand, so most of the students failed to do it properly. As a tourist, driving a yacht yourself or being on a yacht would be an unique event for your trip in Jeju. So contact me @facebook or visit Hwasun Beach yourself!
